30 | Software & Tech Awards 2020 Sep201991 Best Oilfield Equipment Rental Cloud-Based SaaS Solution: RigER Rig Equipment Rentals (RigER) is a cloud-based operations management software that was designed to ‘Connect Oilfield and Office’. What began as an internal project to simplify and improve the convoluted and time-consuming task of coordinating rental and service operations has grown quickly over the past eight years to become a business committed to helping other companies operate more effectively and efficiently. The team at RigER Inc. tells us more. ased in Texas, RigER Inc. offers an award-winning RigER: Oilfield Services ERP designed for equipment rental and service companies. The cloud-based software was created with a vision of connecting the oilfield and the office, thereby eliminating the common issues and confusion created by trying to coordinate the two. The idea for RigER came to President and CEO Michael Maltsev during his time as a CFO for an oilfield rental company. The company’s sales, operations and accounting departments were all constantly faced with logistical nightmares, and most of Michael’s time was consumed by countless hours reconciling spreadsheets, filed tickets and invoices with rental jobs that were complicated by inconsistencies in rates, sites, locations, equipment details and more. Constantly frustrated by the taxing nature of this menial organization issue, Michael began a project to see if he could find a better way to track oilfield operations, dispatch equipment, schedule jobs, and generate invoices to send to accounting and e-billing systems. He spent a few years trying a range of software solutions, but found they lacked oilfield focus and rental features that were so central to his busines. In 2012, Michael therefore decided to use his two decades of experience in software implementation and development to build his own solution from scratch. The idea was that it would be affordable but also robust, customizable, and scalable to suit the needs of a growing business. The initial prototype was simple and solved only two principal issues – invoicing and field ticketing – but Michael polished the system over the next few months until he had a product that he was able to share. The first client who tried the RigER was immensely satisfied and eight years later, continues to use the software to support their operations. Following great reception in the market, RigER grew over the years, acquiring new features and modules to develop from a simple software to a broad ecosystem of cloud and mobile applications that could be integrated with different business software. Today, RigER: Oilfield Services ERP serves a diverse spectrum of clients, from accountants who can issue invoices faster and more accurately, to operations managers who are able to see the full picture of their business, to field B technicians who are no longer using paper and spreadsheets to keep track of job details, but the RigER Mobile Oilfield app to enter and sync- up operational data with the back office with just a click of a button. Driven by their vision for moving oilfield operations into the future - by using new technology to eliminate the need for paper, integration capabilities to simplify operations, and much more besides - RigER seeks to be a business partner for their clients. They work with them to provide custom solutions that suit their needs and fit their budgets and timelines. As such, the team at RigER can continually strive towards improving their clients’ software, maximizing its functionality so that they can focus on the bigger picture of their business. Instead of worrying about menial administrative tasks, clients can devote their attention to developing their business to be the best it can be. Company: RigER Inc.
