Geographic expansion helps clients target the $1.2 Trillion US digital economy opportunity.

To support its growing customer base, Ovum has further expanded its global footprint by opening a new office in the Bay Area. The timing coincides with a period of accelerated investment and integration of its telecommunications, media and technology capabilities. Ovum provides critical business intelligence to digital service providers and their technology partners to enable them to profit from innovation and fast-paced change in the digital service provider market.

Ovum provides forecasts and advice on how digital services are distributed and consumed, how they are enabled by new technologies and the implications for the industry. Clients, including the world’s leading media, technology, and communications organizations, rely on Ovum to guide their investment decisions and profit from opportunities globally and locally.  Ovum also works closely with leading professional services firms, financial services organisations, regulators and public sector bodies.  Services are delivered through ongoing subscriptions and bespoke consulting projects.

To celebrate the grand opening, Ovum held an all-day event on May 25th, 2016 where clients met one-to-one with analysts and attended workshops, focusing on key topics shaping the Digital Economy. In the evening, peers from across the industry networked at a reception in the atrium of the new office at 101 2nd Street.

“Expanding Ovum’s presence in the Bay Area allows us to better serve our customers immersed in one of the largest innovation hubs in the world,” explains Ovum’s Managing Director, Aneil Rakity. “With the opening of our office in San Francisco, we are creating a collaboration hub for our analysts and clients.”

Joining the West Coast analyst team is Robin Lake. Lake, a principal analyst for media and entertainment, focuses on digital video trends including subscription-based video on-demand (SVOD), advertising-based video on-demand (AVOD), content strategy and advertising trends.

“Our clients tell us that Ovum’s ability to identify market opportunities and help them profit from digital innovation are critical to their success,” continues Rakity. “In addition to bringing on new analysts like Robin Lake, we plan to increase our investment and coverage in key topic areas such as IoT, enterprise mobility, payments, SME and OTT services. These investments will help our clients make better decisions faster.”
